Honestly, we almost let it slide. At least a month before her birthday, I was brainstorming things we could do to celebrate Olivia's birthday. But ideas and plans remained "up in the air"... finally, two days before her birthday, Tim and I REALLY talked about what we'd want to do for her.
The Plan: a night at Chuck E Cheese's with 2-3 other kids/families.
Olivia's Birth Day was busy. I had to squeeze in an ultrasound at Baylor on that day...that afternoon. (Had to schedule one BEFORE my next apt with my midwife...PLUS, had to juggle it around my trip back home to WA... THEN throw in Baylor's almost-completely-booked-until-June availability = Ultrasound on Olivia's Birthday).
Jan was LUCKILY available to help me watch Livy so I could make it to my appointment (which was an hour later than expected... they got backed up).
Barely made it out in time to pick up Tim, then head over to the Swans to pickup Olivia, and THEN to head directly to Chuck E Cheese to make our birthday booking.
The Swans managed to beat us there (a couple minutes earlier) by staying in the slow-moving freeway traffic (instead of trying to use the small roads).
In Attendance: Wheeler (with Jan and Matt), Arete (with Sarah and Jessie), and Cassidy (with Jenebie and Cromwell).
We started out by playing on the toys...then ordered our food with our hostess, DeAngela. About 30-40 mins later, the food FINALLY arrived, and the rest of our party made it.
We all headed over to our Birthday Table (we were the only Birthday Party that night, which the hostess said was a GREAT deal for us). We had a "Birthday Show", then Chuck E Cheese came out, "talked" to us, then took some photos. Ate ate ate...then sang Happy Birthday with the Birthday Cake. Then played some more, then ate cake and ice cream.
Olivia had SO much fun. She rode the little carousel about 30+ times (Tim kinda counted). After a couple rides, she'd say, "All done," climb down, then climb onto one of the other 2 horses. :) She LOVED it! There were a couple other toys/rides that she thoroughly enjoyed, including a Vet-Car.
Kiddos slowly trickled out around 8ish...we and the final family stuck around till 9.
