Olivia's pediatrician has been kinda pushy about getting Olivia to the dentist (among other things).
When Elijah was born, we were able to add dental for Olivia, and figured it'd be a good time to take her in to make sure her teeth were OK and that sucking on her blankie wasn't/isn't causing any problems.
I setup Olivia's very first dental appointment last week... Here she is "plugged in" while waiting in the waiting room...watching "UP".
Ready for top and bottom x-rays. It took a while to get Olivia to open her mouth so she could bite down on the x-ray bit thingy. She would close her eyes slowly, and kinda roll her eyes. Finally had to bribe her with a sticker and fruit snacks. She finally opened her mouth and did great.
Sitting in the exam chair...
The dentist offered her sunglasses b/c of the bright light. Olivia accepted.
So proud of my little girl! She's growing up so fast!
She had to teeth counted, examined, cleaned, and flossed. The flossing part is when she started to get a little uncomfortable...she started to wiggle a bit and you could see her tongue going crazy trying to push the flosser out of her mouth.
Afterwards, the dentist praised Olivia -- said she was the best 2 year old they'd ever had -- said Olivia's teeth looked great (aside from slight crowding of her teeth...thinks that when her permanent teeth come in, they will most likely be slightly crowded, too). Went over cleaning tips with me (like brush teeth 3x's a day, floss her teeth since some of them are touching), etc. Gave Olivia a bag full of goodies and sent us on our way. Olivia wanted to stay and play with some toys she had found. :)
Olivia was happy to be done...and super happy with the lollipop they gave her! (With xyletol sp? in it).
